UPPER BLEPHAROPLASTY

An upper blepharoplasty, also known as upper eyelid surgery or eyelid lift, is a surgical procedure designed to remove excess skin and fat from the upper eyelids to alter the appearance of droopy or sagging eyelids.

An upper blepharoplasty may help to reduce the appearance of excess skin ie. hooded eyelids, improve vision, adjust asymmetry, open up the eye area and refresh the overall appearance of the eye area.

An upper blepharoplasty is performed under general anaesthetic at our accredited facility or local anaesthesia. During the procedure, Dr. Senthil Supramaniam will make a small surgical incision in the upper eyelid to remove excess lax tissue. Dr. Senthil Supramaniam will then close the incision with sutures which will be removed at your post operative dressing change.

  • Procedure:
    During an upper blepharoplasty procedure:

Incision: Dr Senthil Supramaniam will make a discreet incision along the natural crease of the upper eyelid to minimise visible scarring.

Tissue Removal: Excess skin, muscle, and sometimes fat are carefully removed or repositioned to alter the eyelid's appearance and function.

Closing the Incision: The incision is closed with sutures, which may be absorbable or require removal after a few days.

    Candidates:
Ideal candidates for upper blepharoplasty may:

    • Have excess skin or fat deposits on the upper eyelids causing a "hooded" or droopy appearance.

    • Experience functional issues, such as obstructed vision due to excess eyelid skin.

    • Are in good overall health without medical conditions that can impair healing.

    Recovery:
Recovery from upper blepharoplasty varies among individuals but generally involves:

    • Mild swelling, bruising, and discomfort for a few days to weeks.

    • Temporary dry eyes or irritation.

    • Keeping the head elevated and using cold compresses to reduce swelling.

    • Avoiding strenuous activities, heavy lifting, and bending over for several days.

    Risks and Considerations:
Like all surgical procedures, upper blepharoplasty carries some risks, including:

    • Scarring

    • Infection

    • Dry eyes or irritation

    • Difficulty closing the eyes completely

    • Asymmetry or uneven eyelid contour

    • Temporary or permanent changes in eyelid sensation or vision

It is important to consult with Dr Senthil Supramaniam to discuss the risks, benefits, and potential outcomes of upper blepharoplasty to determine if it is the right option for your individual needs and goals.

A lower blepharoplasty, also known as lower eyelid surgery or eye bag removal surgery, is a cosmetic surgical procedure aimed at refreshing appearance of lower eyelids by addressing issues such as steatoblepharon (under-eye bags), puffiness, and dermatochalasis (excess skin).

This procedure is performed under general anaesthetic at our accredited facility. During the surgery, Dr. Senthil Supramaniam will make a small incision along the lower lash line or inside the lower eyelid to remove or reposition excess fat and skin. The incision is then closed with sutures, which will be removed at your post-operative appointment. In selected cases, Dr Supramaniam will perform canthopexy, a procedure to tighten the eyelid.

  • Procedure:
    During a lower blepharoplasty procedure:

Incision: Dr Senthil Supramaniam will make an incision either on the inside of the lower eyelid (transconjunctival approach) or just below the lower lash line (subciliary approach).

Tissue Removal or Repositioning: Excess fat, muscle, and skin are either removed or repositioned to reduce puffiness and improve the contour of the lower eyelids.

Closing the Incision: The incision is closed with sutures, which may be absorbable or require removal after a few days.

    Candidates:
Ideal candidates for lower blepharoplasty may have:

    • Have under-eye bags, puffiness, or excess skin on the lower eyelids.

    • Are in good overall health without medical conditions that can impair healing.

    • Have realistic expectations about the outcomes of the surgery.

    Recovery:

    • Scarring

    • Infection

    • Dry eyes or irritation

    • Difficulty closing the eyes completely

    • Asymmetry or uneven eyelid contour

    • Temporary or permanent changes in eyelid sensation or vision

It is important to consult with Dr Senthil Supramaniam to discuss the risks, benefits, and potential outcomes of lower blepharoplasty to determine if it is the right option for your individual needs and goals.

LOWER BLEPHAROPLASTY

FAT TRANSFER TO FACE

Fat transfer to the face, also known as facial fat grafting or autologous fat grafting, is a cosmetic surgical procedure that involves harvesting fat from one part of the body (usually the abdomen, thighs, or hips) through liposuction and injecting it into the face to increase volume and restore facial contours.

The procedure is performed under general anaesthetic at our accredited facility. Dr. Senthil Supramaniam will harvest fat from the donor area, purify it, and carefully inject it into the targeted facial areas.

  • Procedure:
During a fat transfer to the face procedure:

Harvesting the Fat: Dr Senthil Supramaniam performs liposuction to extract fat from the donor site (e.g., abdomen, thighs, hips).

Purification and Preparation: The harvested fat is processed to remove impurities and prepare it for injection.

Injection: The purified fat is carefully injected into targeted areas of the face (e.g., cheeks, temples, nasolabial folds, lips) to increase volume and alter facial contours.

    Candidates:
Ideal candidates for facial fat transfer may:

    • Desire volume enhancement, or contour improvement.

    • Have sufficient donor fat available for harvesting.

    • Are in good overall health with realistic expectations about the outcomes of the procedure.

It is important to consult with Dr Senthil Supramaniam to discuss the risks, benefits, and potential outcomes of facial fat transfer to determine if it is the right option for your individual needs and goals.

A lip lift is a cosmetic surgical procedure designed to elevate the position of the upper lip to create a more full appearance. This procedure shortens the distance between the base of the nose and the upper lip (philtrum), thereby increasing the amount of pink lip show and aiming to improve the overall lip contour.

This procedure is performed under local or general anaesthetic at our accredited facility. Dr. Senthil Supramaniam will make a small incision at the base of the nose, remove a strip of skin, and lift the upper lip to achieve the desired enhancement. The incision is then closed with sutures, which will be removed at your post-operative appointment.

  • Types of Lip Lift Procedures:
Bullhorn Lip Lift (Subnasal or Upper Lip Lift): This is the most common type of lip lift where a small strip of skin is removed directly beneath the nose, creating a subtle lift and altering the shape and fullness of the upper lip.

Corner Lip Lift (Smile or Italian Lip Lift): This procedure targets the corners of the mouth to elevate drooping or downturned corners.

    Procedure:
    During a lip lift procedure:

Incision: Dr Senthil Supramaniam will make a carefully planned incision either beneath the nose (bullhorn lip lift) or at the corners of the mouth (corner lip lift).

Tissue Removal: A small strip of skin is removed to shorten the distance between the nose and the upper lip.

FACE & NECK LIFT

A face and neck lift, also known as rhytidectomy, is a cosmetic surgical procedure designed to alter the appearance of the face and neck by addressing excess skin, deep wrinkles, and other visible signs of ageing. This comprehensive procedure aims to lift and tighten the skin and underlying tissues.

This procedure is performed under general anaesthetic at our accredited facility. Dr. Senthil Supramaniam will make incisions around the hairline and ears, lift and tighten the underlying tissues, and remove excess skin. The incisions are then closed with sutures, which will be removed at your post-operative appointment.

  • Procedure:
During a face and neck lift procedure:

Incisions: Dr Senthil Supramaniam makes incisions usually within the hairline at the temples, extending down and around the front of the ears, and ending behind the ears in the lower scalp. A small incision may also be made under the chin to address the neck area.

Tissue Repositioning: The skin is carefully separated from the underlying tissues, and the muscles and tissues are tightened and repositioned to correct sagging and improve facial and neck contours.

Excess Skin Removal: Any excess skin is trimmed away, and the remaining skin is redraped over the uplifted contours.

Closing the Incisions: The incisions are closed with sutures, skin adhesives, or surgical staples.

Types of Face and Neck Lifts:
Traditional Face and Neck Lift: Addresses the full face and neck area, providing comprehensive rejuvenation.

Mini Face and Neck Lift: Targets specific areas of the face and neck with smaller incisions and less extensive dissection, often resulting in a shorter recovery period.

    Candidates:
Ideal candidates for a face and neck lift may:

    • Have visible signs of ageing such as excess skin, deep wrinkles, and loss of facial volume that they want to alter.

    • Asymmetry or uneven facial contours

    • Potential need for revision surgery

It is essential to consult with Dr Senthil Supramaniam to discuss the risks, benefits, and potential outcomes of a face and neck lift to determine if it is the right option for your individual needs and goals.

Buccal fat pad removal, also known as cheek reduction surgery, is a cosmetic surgical procedure designed to reduce the size of the buccal fat pads located in the cheeks. The buccal fat pads are natural fat deposits located in the hollow area beneath the cheekbones, and their size can contribute to a round or "chubby" facial appearance.

This procedure is performed under local or general anaesthetic at our accredited facility. Dr. Senthil Supramaniam will make a small incision inside the mouth to remove the buccal fat pads. The incision is then closed with sutures, which will dissolve naturally.

Watch Dr Senthil Supramaniam talk about Buccal Fat Pad Removal here

  • Procedure:
During a buccal fat pad removal procedure:

Incision: Dr Senthil Supramaniam makes a small incision on the inside of the cheek, usually near the second upper molar or along the natural crease of the mouth, to access the buccal fat pads.

Fat Removal: The doctor carefully locates and removes a portion of the buccal fat pads to reduce the volume and fullness of the cheeks.

Closing the Incision: The incision is closed with dissolvable sutures or surgical glue.

    Candidates:
Ideal candidates for buccal fat pad removal may:

    • Have full or "chubby" cheeks due to enlarged buccal fat pads.

    • Desire a more contoured facial appearance.

    • Are in good overall health with realistic expectations about the outcomes of the procedure.

    Recovery:
Recovery from buccal fat pad removal varies among individuals but generally involves:

    • Swelling, bruising, and discomfort for a few days to weeks.

    • Following a soft or liquid diet and avoiding hard, spicy, or chewy foods for several days.

    • Using cold compresses to reduce swelling and discomfort.

Like all surgical procedures, buccal fat pad removal carries some risks, including:

    • Infection

    • Hematoma or seroma (fluid accumulation)

    • Asymmetry or uneven cheek contour

    • Numbness or changes in sensation of the cheeks or mouth

    • Overcorrection or undercorrection

    • Scarring (although minimal and usually hidden inside the mouth)

It is essential to consult with Dr Senthil Supramaniam to discuss the risks, benefits, and potential outcomes of buccal fat pad removal to determine if it is the right option for your individual needs and goals.

FACETITE

FaceTite is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure that utilises radiofrequency (RF) energy to tighten and contour the skin on the face and neck, addressing sagging skin, wrinkles, and localised fat deposits. This technology allows for precise heating of the skin and underlying tissues, stimulating collagen production and promoting skin tightening without the need for traditional surgical excisional techniques.

The procedure is performed under local anaesthetic at our accredited facility. Dr. Senthil Supramaniam will insert a thin probe beneath the skin to deliver RF energy, targeting the deeper layers of tissue. The treated area will gradually tighten over time, with full results visible after a few months.

  • Procedure:
    During a FaceTite procedure:

Local Anesthesia: The treatment area is numbed with a local anesthetic to minimise discomfort during the procedure.

RF Energy Delivery: A small cannula is inserted through tiny incisions in the skin. The cannula delivers controlled RF energy to heat the deeper layers of the skin and underlying tissues.

Tissue Tightening and Contouring: The RF energy heats and contracts the tissues, promoting collagen production and resulting in immediate skin tightening and contouring effects.

Treatment Completion: Once the desired results are achieved, the cannula is removed, and the incisions are typically small enough to heal without the need for sutures.

    Candidates:
    Ideal candidates for FaceTite may:

    • Have mild to moderate skin laxity, wrinkles, or localised fat deposits on the face and neck.

    • Desire a non-surgical alternative to traditional facelift or neck lift surgery.

    • Are in good overall health with realistic expectations about the outcomes of the procedure.

    Recovery:
Recovery from FaceTite is generally quicker and less painful than traditional surgical procedures but varies among individuals:

    • Mild swelling, bruising, and discomfort may occur for a few days to weeks.

    • Using cold compresses and over-the-counter pain relievers can help manage swelling and discomfort.

    • Avoiding strenuous activities and excessive sun exposure for several weeks is recommended.

    Risks and Considerations:
Like all cosmetic procedures, FaceTite carries some risks, including:

    • Skin burns or damage from RF energy.

    • Swelling, bruising, or temporary numbness.

    • Asymmetry or uneven skin contour.

    • Infection or scarring (rare).

    • Overcorrection or undercorrection of the treatment area.

It is essential to consult with Dr Senthil Supramaniam who is experienced in FaceTite procedures to discuss the risks, benefits, and potential outcomes to determine if it is the right option for your individual needs and goals.

Genioplasty, also known as chin surgery or chin augmentation, is a surgical procedure designed to reshape or enhance the size and projection of the chin to help achieve a more balanced facial profile. This procedure can involve either augmentation (increasing the size of the chin) or reduction (decreasing the size of the chin) to improve the overall facial symmetry and contour.

The procedure is performed under general anaesthetic at our accredited facility. Dr. Senthil Supramaniam will make an incision inside the mouth or under the chin, reposition the chin bone or insert an implant, and secure it in place. The incision is then closed with sutures, which will be removed at your post-operative appointment.

  • Types of Genioplasty:
Chin Augmentation (Implant or Sliding Genioplasty): This procedure involves increasing the size and projection of the chin using a chin implant or by moving the chin bone forward (sliding genioplasty).

Chin Reduction: This procedure involves decreasing the size of the chin by removing a portion of the chin bone.

    Procedure:
    During a genioplasty procedure:

Incision: Dr Senthil Supramaniam makes a carefully planned incision either inside the mouth (intraoral approach) or under the chin (submental approach) to access the chin bone.

Bone Reshaping or Augmentation: Depending on the desired outcome, the surgeon may reshape the existing chin bone or place a chin implant to achieve the desired size and projection.

Closing the Incision: The incision is closed with sutures, which may be absorbable or require removal after a few days.

    Candidates:
    Ideal candidates for genioplasty may:

    • Have a receding or prominent chin that affects facial harmony and balance.

    • Desire a more proportionate facial profile.

    • Are in good overall health with realistic expectations about the outcomes of the procedure.

    Recovery:
Recovery from genioplasty varies among individuals but generally involves:

    • Swelling, bruising, and discomfort for a few days to weeks.

    • Following a soft or liquid diet and avoiding hard, chewy, or spicy foods for several days.

    • Using cold compresses to reduce swelling and discomfort.

    • Avoiding strenuous activities and heavy lifting for several weeks.

    Risks and Considerations:
Like all surgical procedures, genioplasty carries some risks, including:

    • Infection

    • Hematoma or seroma (fluid accumulation)

    • Asymmetry or uneven chin contour

    • Numbness or changes in sensation of the chin or lower lip

    • Scarring (although minimal and usually hidden inside the mouth or under the chin)

    • Overcorrection or undercorrection

It is essential to consult with Dr Senthil Supramaniam to discuss the risks, benefits, and potential outcomes of genioplasty to determine if it is the right option for your individual needs and goals.
